Quick Update!

Plans have changed!

There will now be five people on board, not three. The fish box is going to be turned into a cooler for drinks, the regular cooler will be used for food. And more drinks. Water is something you do not want to run out of. So I have:

12 Sam Adams Lights
12 cans of fizzy water (12 oz cans)
1 gallon of lemonade
6 cans of soda
1 sandwich

Everyone else is bringing their own stuff. So there will be more food and more beer and more water and more everything. This is why I need to use the fish box as a cooler. The primary cooler, which holds ice much better, is simply not going to be big enough.

Someone BETTER bring chips. I did not buy any. Someone better. I am testing everyone to see who comes through with the good stuff.

One of the people is bringing a tube that can be towed behind the boat. That ought to be fun.
In fact, it is a lot of fun.

There shall also be a bottle of Flor de Cana 12 year rum, and some manner of vodka. Got to be really careful with that stuff. REALLY careful. Ill not be partaking in that very much if at all. Ill be suggesting people limit their intake of the hard stuff. Things will be OK

I installed the Bimini top, so I can put that up for extra shade. The t-top is great for fishing and I really like it - but it does not provide for very much shade. With the t-top and the Bimini top Ill have a place to hide from the sun.

Pretty much everything is ready to go. I just need to get up (in about 4 1/2 - 5 hours - CURSE YE NOCTURNAL WAYS!!!!!), load the stuff I could not fit in a lockable compartment (assorted snorkeling gear and boat electronics), and go!

And stop for gas. I need gas. One tank reads 1/2 and the other reads 3/4. So I estimate I need around 15 - 18 gallons of gas to fill both tanks. Probably less. But Ill call my guess at 15 - 18 gallons. That was for the last two trips by the way. The boat I have is about as efficient as a boat can get without sails or oars.

It will be sheer madness out on the water. Madness I tell you! Miami is populated mostly by idiots. And since there is no license requirements for boating, anyone can get a boat and take it out. There will be a lot of people out who do not use their boat very much. There will be people who just bought a new or used boat out - people who have never used a boat before. Three day weekends are always crazy. Memorial Day marks the start of the summer season, so it is a big one.

Ill be out adding to the madness. Part of the madness. And Ill have a good time doing it.

Whats Up

WOW! How time flies. It seems like it has been forever since I have made my usual blog rounds.

So if you have noticed a lack of comments by me on your blog, it is not intentional. It just is. Things are going slow here. Very slow. Just creeping along. Slowly.

This leaves me with very little to contemplate here. No funny stories. No musings. Very few rants.

I suppose you could call what I have "mild depression". Or maybe it is just called "bored". Or maybe mild depression and bored are the same thing. Who knows.

I just think I need more things to do. New challenges. A new direction in life. And all that shit.

The war with the powers that are continues. At this point I may have to involve an attorney in the process. But this presents an interesting problem. Should the problem turn out to be unsolvable, where will the money to pay the attorney come from? Will I have to sell a kidney on E-Bay?

Anyway I am thinking this may work out for me. If the attorney knows that if he/she loses the case then they get the big goose egg, but stand to win fabulous prizes for victory, then maybe they will put more into it. This falls under the theory of "a rising tide floats all boats". I win, they win. I lose, then they lose.

The way I see it, you are either on Team Lazy or not. None of this "I am on your team but I want to win even if you lose" bullshit. How is that even possible??

But seriously, the attorney will probably want something up front. Something green, paper like, and rectangular in shape.

So I have to evaluate the merits of this plan. What do I stand to gain? What are the potential costs? Does the potential gain outweigh the potential cost?

But there are other factors involved here. At this point, I am taking it all personally. So my gut says "if they want a war, then a war they shall get".

In the end, the gut usually gets what it wants. The brain is just along for the ride.

Saturday Post

As you may have noticed, it seems that this week I missed a few days worth of posts.

Well shit happens. And sometimes you step in it. I hate it when that happens.

Not really a whole lot going on here. Sort of. Actually, there is something going down. A war may be brewing. But I can not speak of such things because it may not even be true. And even if it is true, I can not let any battle plans leak. I like to keep my boat with a dry bilge, and leaks let water into the bilge.

In other news, I got more Netflix movies. The Guardian and Watership Down.

The Guardian is an exciting movie featuring boats (mostly sinking boats I would think). Why sinking boats? Because the movie is about Coast Guard chopper crews and rescue swimmers and stuff. No point in having a rescue swimmer jump out of a perfectly good helicopter if there is not a sinking boat.

Of course the rescue swimmer is played by Kevin Costner. I think the USCG has a policy preventing fogies from being rescue swimmers. But whatever. Every movie requires some degree of acceptance of unlikely things.

The other movie is Watership Down. A delightful animated movie about rabbits. But not really. The rabbits are probably symbolic of people or something. But who knows. It is based on a book which I have not read. I will carefully watch this movie in order to glean the meaning of it. Unless the movie is so watered down that it just sucks and really is only about rabbits.

Today I plan to take the boat out. There may be some manner of training exercise going on that I want to watch happen. It will be cool, if it happens. Of course there will be photos.

And then after that, there is some sort of rum party going on that I was told to show up for. You know, if I want to. There will be free rum. So why would I want to go there?

What Are Words For

MOVIE REVIEW! Part two of the revenge trilogy from the Korean director. The guy is a student of philosophy and a fan of Hitchcock. Anyhow, the second film, OLDBOY, is pretty good. 4 tail whips.

The plot revolves around some guy that is imprisoned in a hotel room like cell for 15 years, for unknown reasons. Needless to say, he is fairly pissed off when he gets out. He is pretty much planning on kicking all the asses in South Korea - regardless of their need to be kicked. He is very upset about being imprisoned alone for all that time. But that is not all! OH NO! There is more to the story than that. You will not see the plot twists coming. Trust me. You will never figure it out. That is why the 4 tail whips. I like it when I can not predict what is going to happen. The movie is dubbed in English so you do not have to read it. Like those old kung-fu movies. It is also subtitled if you want to read the movie. And here is the coolest part - the Engligh audio dubbing does not match the subtitles. Huh. This one I liked better than the first one. It is one hell of a revenge theme movie.

In other news, I invented a new word. It is a verb and/or adjective. The word is "Skippered". Here is how it is used in a sentence.

"I think your drink got skippered when you got up to take a leak". Or "Your food just got skippered, I told you that you had to guard it".

The word comes from Skipper the cat. He gets into EVERYTHING. If I set down a beer, his nose gets stuck into it. Food is not safe at all. He seems to really like french fries. He likes McDonads fries the best, but he will also eat BK fries. I get very little peace. He does not give up. You can push him away, but that does not last. You can put him on the floor, but that only works for about 3 seconds. You can flick water at him, but that only works for 6 seconds unless you use a 5 gallon bucket full of water. But this creates a big mess and is only effective for 30 seconds. It takes longer to clean up the mess - in which time whatever you were eating/drinking will get skippered. I threaten to kick him out, but he does not believe me. All the threats are ignored. He seems to know that the threats are all empty. Oh yea - you are really going to toss me out. Well go on then! Do it. No? HA! Did not think so! Now step aside so I can stick my paw in your drink to see how cold it is.

I have dumped more liquids out that way than I care to think about. Cause that is gross. He digs in things with that paw. Ugly horrible things. So when the beer gets super skippered (paw in the item you are eating/drinking) - it is no good. And does he want it? Hell no. He just wants to investigate it. If my beverage just gets regular skippered (sniffed) then it is still good. I guess.

Lets see, what else. I guess that is all.
